Hi-Velocity Systems Announces RBM & RCM A2L Cooling Coils Now Available!

Hi-Velocity Systems is happy to announce that both RBM and RCM refrigerant cooling coils are now available as complete A2L compatible units, and every coil is approved for use with either R 454B or R 32 refrigerants. There is no need to stock separate coils, or specify which A2L refrigerant will be used, providing maximum flexibility. Coils come complete with a factory-supplied Refrigerant Detection System (RDS Kit) with Dual Refrigerant Sensor designed to help simplify code compliance, system design, and installation.

When a leak is detected (to %LFL) the mitigation board will:

• Signal the Air Handler to turn on, to prevent the leaking refrigerant from pooling to its lowest flammability limit at the lowest point in the Evaporator Coil’s cabinet.

• Cut power to the refrigerant compressor to keep it from staying energized, preventing it from supplying more refrigerant to the potential leak point.

• Prevent any ignition source from possibly igniting the flammable refrigerant. This will prevent your Electric Strip Coil or Variable Electric Strip Coil from energizing during a detected leak, utilizing an external relay and the “Alarm/ALM” terminal.

The RDS Kit comes with:

• A2L Dual Refrigerant Sensor: The detection unit.

• Mitigation Control Board: The "brain" that manages the safety response.

• Wiring Harnesses: For connecting components.

• Installation Manual & Safety Labels: Required by safety codes.
